Fariha struggled managing her weight her entire life and when she turned 51, her demanding career as a forensic scientist, combined with menopause, created the perfect storm. Since her position requires her to be on-call, she had always lacked the routine necessary to prioritize exercise and diet. To make matters worse, when menopause hit, her health was impacted even more. Diagnosed with hypothyroidism, Fariha found herself especially exhausted and at her heaviest weight ever.
Everytime she looked in the mirror, her growing thighs, belly, and upper arms served as instant reminders of how unhappy she was, the weight she needed to lose, and most importantly, the health she longed for.
Desperate for change, she tried short stints of intermittent fasting, Mediterranean diets, and cutting out sugar, but no matter what she tried, nothing worked. Since her profession was so unpredictable, she decided to shift her attention to aspects of her life she could control— like her diet.
Her decision to sign up for Masala Body’s 8-Week Slim Down Jumpstart program, led to results she’d never imagined possible. In just 8 weeks, Fariha dropped 11 pounds, melted 2” from her bust, shed 2” from her hips, and 1.5” from her thighs.
Collaborating with her online weight loss coach, they tailored a personalized fat-burning framework, sustainable meal plan, and routine that addressed Fariha's specific needs and objectives. First Fariha started with small changes. Instead of eating her typical two meals a day, she made a point to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. As the weeks progressed, she established convenient meal-preparation routines, explored a variety of satisfying and tasty recipes that could be prepared ahead of time and consumed on the go, and mastered the art of portion control through food pairing techniques.
Fariha before & after her body transformation
“KNOWING WHAT I’M MAKING FOR LUNCH EVERYDAY HELPS ME KNOW I AM GETTING THE GOOD NUTRITION MY BODY NEEDS AND DOESN’T LEAVE ME SCRAMBLING TO FIND SOMETHING UNHEALTHY IN THE COURTHOUSE.”
Fariha discusses her life-changing journey with online weight loss coaching
Adhering to her fat-burning framework, she successfully prepared nutritious meals on the weekends to have readily available during her busy weekdays. Strategically packed with protein, properly portioned, and paired in beneficial ways, she had a fridge stocked with countless options to pull from during her hectic weeks. Some of her favorite go-tos were premade egg muffins stored in the freezer when she was in a pinch, nutrient rich salads for lunch, delicious smoothies as convenient snacks, yogurt for a sweet treat, and countless dinner options to keep her foods exciting and varied.
“KEEPING MEALS CONSISTENT AND CHANGING UP DINNERS HAS BEEN MORE EFFICIENT IN TERMS OF TIME AND WORKS FOR ME AND MY SCHEDULE.”
Masala Body didn’t just tell her what she could or could not eat, but rather, taught her how to look at the value of food– considering the importance of incorporating protein into every meal, acknowledging macronutrients, incorporating fruits, healthy fats, and wholesome carbohydrates. Armed with this knowledge, Fariha now knows the essential nutrients she needs to include in her diet and can use this framework to diversify and customize her meal choices while living a confident and healthier lifestyle long-term.
