I’ll never forget the first time I met Pam, an accomplished nurse anesthetist with a master’s degree in nutrition. Pam had always been active – kayaking, paddleboarding, scuba diving, biking, hiking, and strength training kept her moving. She listened to health and fitness podcasts, read health and well-being books, and kept up to date on the latest diets and trends.
However, with every step forward she made, the more overwhelmed she felt.
Pam always assumed that she had a solid grasp of how to lose weight. After all, she had tried Noom, Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, and Optavia but now Pam was post-menopausal and what had worked before, no longer did.
